Rediscovering My Classic Warhammer Fantasy Wood Elves

After years in the display cabinet, my Warhammer Fantasy Wood Elves finally saw daylight again for a photoshoot . Holding them brought back memories of epic battles and countless painting hours. A Nostalgic Look at an Old Army: Wood Elves of The Old World Though these miniatures have aged, they still capture the magic of Athel Loren. Their classic sculpts and earthy tones remain timeless, proving that even older models still hold their charm - also I prefer the modern sculpts :) The forest-themed terrain I created in the last couple of month was the perfect backdrop, making them feel alive once more. Seeing them in this setting reminded me why I fell in love with this army so long ago.

A Sylvaneth Realm Comes to Life – My New Age of Sigmar Fantasy Terrain

My Warhammer Age of Sigmar Fantasy terrain  - the Realm of Ghyran After months of crafting, painting, and assembling, my latest Fantasy Terrain project is finally complete! This new battlefield is a lush and immersive realm, perfect for my Sylvaneth army, The Cherry Blossom Grove , in Warhammer Age of Sigmar . Creating this terrain has been a labor of love. I focused on overgrown ruins, towering trees, mystical terrain, and intricate pathways to bring the magic of the Sylvaneth to life. No it feels like stepping into the enchanted wilds of Ghyran itself. I took the opportunity to do a Sylvaneth photo shoot, capturing the cherry blossom grove in its natural habitat. The terrain provided the perfect backdrop. Here are some of my favorite shots from the session:  And some pics without minis: And finally some action shots and epic fights:  Let me know what you think in the comments! Happy wargaming!

I painted Belthanos for my Sylvaneth army

I've recently expanded my Warhammer Age of Sigmar Sylvaneth army - with Belthanos First Thorn of Kurnoth . I've always been a big fan of the Lore of Kurnoth.  Kurnoth was a hunter god who represented nature's wildness and hunger and one of the survivors of the World-That-Was. In the World-That-Was Kurnoth led the so-called Wild Hunt through his avatar Orion. Kurnoth would use an elf prince sacrificed by the Asrai as a vessel to walk among mortals. The Wild Hunt is called upon by those who are enemies of the Asrai and the forest. In Age of Sigmar with the appearance of Belthanos, he leads the eternal hunt that keeps his master Kurnoth’s spirit in bloom. I painted this amazing new mini for my Cherry Blossom Grove Sylvaneth army. Hope you like it! Completing my Cherry Blossom Sylvaneth Warhammer army!

In the last couple of weeks, I was finally able to paint the last two units to complete my Warhammer Age of Sigmar Sylvaneth army. I took some pictures of the army in my showcase: Showcase of the completed Sylvaneth army Details of the two added units: Tree Revenants Revenant Seekers / Dragonspite Lancers I really like the aesthetic of the army as well the playstyle on the battlefield. Talking about battlefields, creating Warhammer Age of Sigmar terrain for an awesome battlefield setup will be one of my main projects in 2023.
